Productivity & AI
Do AI tools help with productivity?
Read time: 2.5 minutes
Welcome back to The Leap! A newsletter to help individuals and businesses take their productivity to the next level.
Quick Thought
I read this in Atomic Habits this week. It’s perfect as we head into a new month and start a new week.
"If you aren’t sure when to start your habit, try the first day of the week, month, or year. People are more likely to take action at those times because hope is usually higher. If we have hope, we have a reason to take action. A fresh start feels motivating."
Take today as an opportunity to take action on that goal, project, or habit you’ve been thinking about!
Now let’s jump into it.
Productivity & AI
I’m very active on Twitter & LinkedIn. I post content daily on those platforms, so I see a lot of content from others. But there’s one piece of content I see more than any other.
ChatGPT & AI.
ChatGPT has taken the world by storm. In its first two months of launching, it acquired over 100 million users, making it the fastest-growing consumer application ever.
And now AI tools are popping up left and right that can do various things. Today I'm going to share seven really cool tools with you.
But first, I have one big question to address:
Can all these AI tools help you become more productive?
Yes and no.
While these AI tools can be incredibly helpful, they aren't a replacement for good habits, discipline, and a strong foundation of productivity principles.
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the next shiny tool or app will solve all of our problems.
In fact, relying too heavily on AI tools can actually be counterproductive. It's easy to become so focused on optimizing our tools and processes that we forget to actually do the work.
The tools can help, but it's up to each individual to do the hard work of actually being productive.
Now let’s dive into these seven unbelievable AI tools.
1. ChatGPT
At this point, almost everyone has heard of ChatGPT. But most people don’t know how to use it to it’s full potential.
When used correctly, the kind of things it can help you with is unreal.
This Twitter thread shows you how to maximize its potential. And it’s only a 60-second read.
2. Fathom
If you or your business do a lot of Zoom calls, this is a total game changer.
Fathom records, transcribes, highlights, and summarizes your meetings. As soon as your call is over, you can read the whole transcript.
Better yet, it also provides a summary of the whole call. Never take notes again on your calls.
3. Consensus
Consensus is a search engine like Google but way cooler. Consensus uses AI to find answers in research papers.
This can save a ton of time verifying the legitimacy of what you read on the internet.
4. Detangle
This is one of my favorites on this list. Detangle can summarize just about anything.
YouTube videos, podcasts, legal documents, emails, articles, books, speeches, lectures, interviews, presentations, meetings…. you get the idea.
Where was this when I was in high school and college!? 🤪
5. Booth
Booth creates professional quality photos using AI. You simply upload a sample product image and then tell it what you want.
But is it any good? Yes. Check out this example.
Prompt: “Photo of a smiling woman wearing a classic blazer in a park.”

6. TimeMaster
Supercharge your focus and productivity. TimeMaster uses the power of AI to automatically detect what you are working on.
It will even categorize your activities and write time logs so you can see what you spent your time working on.
It will also give you notifications when you are overworking or distracted.
7. Tavus
I don’t even know how to explain this one best it’s so crazy. Tavus lets you record one video and then personalize it for anyone.
Personalized videos can boost conversions by 500%, but most people don’t do it because it’s time-consuming. Tavus fixes that.
Just go watch the demo video on their website.
Summary
AI tools are fantastic, and I firmly believe everyone should be taking advantage of them. They 100% can help save you time and money while boosting productivity.
But remember:
No tool can force us to focus, avoid distractions, or prioritize our tasks effectively. Those are things that we have to do for ourselves.
That’s it for this week.
